The upsets are stealing the show as Wimbledon 2022 enters its third round of play on Friday, July 1 (7/1/2022), with some exciting matchups ahead.

Round 3 of Wimbledon, a.k.a. The Championships, will be broadcast on ESPN starting at 6 a.m. ET on Friday, and can be streamed live on DirecTV Stream, ESPN+ and other live TV services.

While top seeded players like Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek are through to round 3, upsets abound further into the field. Emma Raducanu will exit the tournament earlier than expected following a shock 6-3, 6-3 upset by France’s Caroline Garcia. Harmony Tan continued her upset streak, which started with Serena Williams in Round 1, by beating 32nd-seeded Sara Sorribes Tormo.

On the men’s side, Ugo Humbert upset the No. 3 seed Casper Ruud in a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 comeback, while Alejandro Davidovich Fokina exited the tournament in bizarre fashion Wednesday after he was given a point penalty on match point for launching a ball out of All England Lawn Tennis stadium.
