Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

Having a power supply can be extremely useful when you’re on the job, especially when running demanding or aggressive tools. There are a lot of issues with using gas-powered generators, such as their size, the fumes they put off, and the seemingly endless maintenance. Milwaukee’s carry-on power supply runs off the company’s M18 Redlithium battery system, which could put an end to gas-powered woes while you work.

The Milwaukee M18 carry-on power supply offers 3600 starting watts and 1800 running watts of energy to power everything from sensitive electronics to 15-amp corded tools. The best part is that you can use any four Milwaukee M18 batteries as a power source, and you can even mix and match different battery capacities. It gives you emission-free power that you can use indoors and underground, unlike with gas generators.

Another notable feature is the ability to charge your M18 batteries simultaneously at a standard 3A rate using the included charging cord. Charging occurs when you aren’t using the Carry-On to power other devices.

With the M18 carry-on power supply, you can run tough and demanding tools like table saws and pancake compressors. Its pure sine wave energy also enables you to charge sensitive electronics like your phone or laptop. It even includes USB-C and USB-A ports that are compatible with most device chargers.

The Milwaukee M18 Carry-On Power Supply will retail for $699, however, the batteries are not included— you’ll have to purchase those separately. It’s set to launch in August 2022. Milwaukee backs this device with a 3-year limited warranty.

Admittedly, one of our first thoughts had to do with what happens when you serve up a delicious 4-battery dish for your coworkers? I mean, who wouldn’t assume they could simply pull a battery from the Carry-On and get to work?

As it turns out, Milwaukee thought ahead on this too. They made the top handle slide across so that you can lock the battery bays with your own padlock to prevent theft or tampering while on the jobsite.

That’s a win. About the only negative has to do with price. At $699 for the bare tool, you do pay a premium for this tool. Assuming you already own some M18 batteries that may be all you need to pay. Here’s how the Milwaukee Carry-On specs stack up against the competition:
