RBC Race For the Kids is back live in Mel Lastman Square on Sept. 17 or virtually wherever you are. Legendary Chicago percussionist/composer brings to Toronto his Trane Trio Tribute ensemble featuring rising tenor saxophone star Isaiah Collier and Justin Dillard on keyboard. The Sept. 23rd show will celebrate the brilliance of iconic jazz legend John Coltrane, and the 60th anniversary of the release of his ground-breaking album, Coltrane. The El’Zabar Trio will perform the entire album, and the following night – Sept. 24th – will switch gears and perform Coltrane’s Impressions album, which was released in 1963. Legendary Chicago percussionist/composer brings to Toronto his Trane Trio Tribute ensemble featuring rising tenor saxophone star Isaiah Collier and Justin Dillard on keyboard. The Sept. 23rd show will celebrate the brilliance of iconic jazz legend John Coltrane, and the 60th anniversary of the release of his ground-breaking album, Coltrane. The El’Zabar Trio will perform the entire album, and the following night – Sept. 24th – will switch gears and perform Coltrane’s Impressions album, which was released in 1963.
